Hyperstudio is an easy to use multimedia authoring tool which allows you to incorporate text, graphics, sound, video, hyperlinks and active URLs into your presentation. It provides the vehicle for you to become adept communicators in a knowledge-based society.

A few guidelines on planning and designing Stacks:

Stack Structure

Linear stacks communicate information in a sequential format. A hub structure provides more choices for the user. All the cards are linked to a central card on which buttons will move the user to whatever section is chosen first. Branching stacks may begin at their center as a hub structure, with each choice leading to more choices or subtopics.

Keep It Simple

Don't forget that your focus is not on the really cool things the program can do, but is instead on the information you want to share. Use the "4 C's" to help you achieve the best results.

Content
The purpose for using multimedia authoring programs is to present information in an effective and dynamic way. A general rule of thumb is that a text field should require no more than three clicks of the mouse to read.
Consistency
Consistency in the stack allows the student to concentrate on the message and prevents distraction from too many artistic changes. With all the design features of multimedia authoring programs, it is easy to get carried away and obscure the message so that the content can't be found.
Creativity
Everything should have a purpose and point to the content. Animation's and graphics should support the content not upstage it.

Card Composition
This is the combination of media elements on each card or unit of the stack. Each card should contain basic elements such as: text, graphics and sound.
