Transferability of Course within Nevada: Transfers as a general elective.
Linkage of course to educational program mission and outcomes: This course is one of the degree requirements for the AAS in one of three degrees in Computer Technology. Upon completion of this course students will have a skill set necessary for further study in computer technology and with successful completion of the course are able to test successfully on certification standards in this specialty program.

Advanced Concepts and Techniques MicrosoftÒOffice 2007 is structured for a one-semester course focusing on the advanced features of the major applications in the suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). The text is designed around the following performance objectives:
These objectives will be reached by completing at least 10 hours of lab work a week, participating in bulletin board discussions, chat sessions, chapter quizzes, completing all reading assignments and chapter Step-throughs, Learn it Onlines, Make it rights, assigned In the Labs, Extend your Knowledge, completing 4 Unit Objective Tests and a handson proctored final.
ATTENDANCE and TESTING
Tests will cover class notes, lab work, and reading assignments. They will be open book, open note. Four synchronous online chats are required, as is participation in bulletin board discussions. I will poll the class to see when might be the most compatible time to meet in our Office Hour Chat Room. A proctored handson test incorporating the 4 office applications is required.
GRADING
Your final grade will be computed by averaging together the following grades:

If after midterm, a "W" is at the instructor's discretion. Note: It is the student's responsibility to notify both the school and the instructor of a withdrawal. Failure to notify both the instructor and the school may result in a grade of "F". |

SUBMISSION OF ASSIGNMENTS
Students will not print their assignments, but will submit their work as attachments in the appropriate WebCT Assignment Drop Box. All Chapter computer assignments will be zipped into a file with the title “Word (Excel, Access, or PPT) Chapter 4 or Chapter 5”, etc. They must be clearly labeled. If your work is not labeled, it will be returned to you for proper labeling. All assignments must be turned in no later than two (2) weeks after their due date, with all assignments turned in by Dec. 19. The objective tests will be posted on the WebCT bulletin Board and will be
open book, open note. The Quizzes will be online.
