Welcome to the SCI Setlist
Archive
Thanks for stopping by! This site is a collaborative effort on behalf of
SCI fans and myself to accurately archive concert setlists for the String
Cheese Incident. With setlists coming in from so many different
sources, complete accuracy for newer (as well as older) setlists may take
some time. If you find your Tapes or CD's don't match a list on this site,
send an email to lcy@scs.unr.edu, and
I'll correct it! Would you like to write a review for a show and have it
linked off the corresponding setlist? Want your SCI-related fan site, SCI
news, MP3's, announcements, stories or rants posted around here? Just send
me an e-mail and we'll set it up! Enjoy...
Site News and
Updates: 10/13/99
Neil F. mailed in the 10/07/99 setlist - Gracias! Been working on a new
site design (with extra features), as I'm absolutely sick of this puke
green background - Yech! I've just been too lazy to change it in the last
few months, but now it's time (my office mates making fun of it is fueling
my creative fire as well ;-). Alot of people have been
sending email asking about SCI tape and CD trades; Your best bet is to
subscribe (or check out the Archives of)
the Incidentalist Mailing List
- there are tons of people trading there, and it is a great
source for all things SCI to boot. NOTE: There was an error in the news
section last week regarding SCI's new album...The new *Keller Williams*
(with SCI) CD is coming out on Oct 12, NOT the SCI album. The new SCI
album will be out sometime in January of Y2K. Thanks to Phil M. for
pointing this
out!
Peace out,
Lance

Constine NEW
SHOWS - FALL TOUR AND SPRING TOUR:
East coast fans will be happy to hear that a new show date has been added
to the Fall Tour. On Sunday October 10, 1999 String Cheese will play to
benefit the Friends of The Smoky Mountain National Park at the World's
Fair Park in Knoxville, Tennessee. Who else will be there? Santana,
Ozomatli, the Bluerags, and Bela Fleck Bluegrass Session (featuring Sam
Bush, Tony Rice, Jerry Douglas). String Cheese is also going to play
MerleFest in Wilkesboro, NC, a weekend experience celebrating bluegrass,
folk, gospel, blues, cajun, old time, jazz, and celtic music. If you
haven't already checked out String Cheese at a festival, you should
definitely head to NC on April 27th to the natural amphitheater found at
the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of the artists rumored to play
this year are Willie Nelson, Nanci Griffith, Donna the Buffalo, Tony Rice,
Peter Rowan, Sam Bush, Laura Love, Gillian Welch, Tim O'Brien, Chesapeake,
and Jack Lawrence. The shows last from April 27-30th. Tickets go on sale
November 9th. And remember, tickets are on sale
for the two New Year's Eve shows at the Oregon Convention Center in
Portland. SCI is playing with Keller Williams both nights and on the 31st
the Zen Tricksters will join in the madness.
NEW SONGS - FAT FRY MUSIC FESTIVAL
Fans who made it to the Fat Fry Music Festival in Aptos Villiage Park,
Aptos, CA, 9/25/99 might not have recognized the fourth and fifth songs
of the setlist...That's because the show marked the first plays of both
"Latinismo" and "Water." It's been three months since we last heard a new one, the last time being
"Joyful Sound," 6/14/99 at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Lobster, (whose review of the show is linked to this site), seemed truly
impressed by these new additions. "Latinismo was just incredible. It
sounded like they were mixing 2 distinct Santana-ish grooves back and
forth. The ending had a similar pattern as MLT's ending structure but
changed a bit to finish it
off. This song will definitely become big by the time it's played for a
whole tour." As for "Water," written by Kang, Lobster comments on the
calypso sounds and the hints of "Climb" during the jam. "Good song with
lots of space for improv." Also, a String Cheese Sighting: Michael Kang
was seen playing with the Derek Trucks Band on September 16th at Boulder's
Fox Theatre. Kang sat in on three songs with DTB including "Afro Blue" and
"Egg 15". For those of you who aren't familiar with Derek Trucks, he's
a top slide/blues guitar prodigy from Florida (who in addition to
his own band has also been playing guitar in The Allman Brothers Band
-Ed).
ALSO - FOR SOME GOOD QUALITY LIVE
MUSIC:
Thought you all might like to check out a radio show that was posted
through the Incendentalist. Broadcast in Fort Collins on 90.5FM, you can
take a late night trip through all sorts of music with Christopher McPhee
each Wednesday night from 12a.m. to 3a.m. He's been featuring about a ½
an hour of String Cheese each week along with groups like Karl Denson and
the Big Wu, using high quality digital recordings.

MP3 Files If you're not familiar
with MP3's, they are high quality compressed digital audio files. Though the files are pretty large, (60
seconds of music equals about 1 megabyte), the quality is excellent (or at least as good as the original
"master" source), and mp3's finally give analog folk the ability to get a little taste of the digital
realm. If you don't already have one, pick up an MP3 player for your opsystem from one of the links
below:

If you have high quality digital sci
stuff on CD-R, MP3 encoding ability, and would like to send an MP3
to post up to the site, give me an e-mail!.
SCI MP3's:
Updated 10/01/99
This round's MP3 is Keller William's short but sweet rendition of Sittin' On Top Of The World. It was
taken from his setbreak mini-set from the SCI show at The Fillmore
Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on March 14, 1998. Source is DMatrix> DAT>
CDR. The file is only 1.5 meg, so give it a listen!
