Services

SAPAC is dedicated to provide services to prevent sexual assault, as well as to help student survivors if assaults do occur. We currently only work with programs and individuals associated with the University of Nevada-Reno.*

Prevention

The SAPAC staff present prevention programs throughout the university community to raise awareness of issues relevant to sexual assault and reduce the overall number of sexual assaults.  Presentations focus on risky behaviors, effective response strategies and prevalent misconceptions surrounding sexual assault.

If you would like to schedule a presentation, please e-mail unrsapac@gmail.com or call us at 775-784-4648.

Counseling

SAPAC offers free and confidential counseling services for student victims of sexual assault.

To make an apointment with one of our counselors, call us at 784-4648.

Liason Services

Sexual assault can impact an individual in multiple and complex ways.  For students, this can include difficulty in managing class work or working effectively.  It can also be extremely difficult to advocate for oneself in this situation.  For this reason, SAPAC offers liaison services where the primary objective is to facilitate the communication between you and your professors.  Even while providing liaison services, SAPAC simultaneously remains committed to upholding client confidentiality.  We hope that this service will allow you to have the space to cope with the situation an effective way.

* If you are a victim of sexual assault but are not a student, other resources are available for you, such as the Victims of Crime Treatment Center and UNR's Psychological Service Center (784-6668) . If you are a student seeking mental help for issues other than sexual assault, contact Counseling Services.

If our program is not suited for your individual needs, check out the contacts page - we many have contact information for someone who can help you.

SAPAC is a small program, and is not equipped to take emergency calls. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911. If you are not in physical danger, but feel you need to talk to someone outside of a scheduled appointment, please call the crisis call center, at 784-8090.
